Arizona advocates and supporters like our friends at ERA Task Force AZ have been hard at work reviewing statues and celebrating January 27, 2022 - what we're calling ERA Day!
Arizona lawyers reviewed their state statutes and produced a 652-page report of recommended changes to eliminate sex discrimination from the Arizona Code. (You can read the full report here.)
In acknowledgement of ERA Day, State Senator Victoria Steele reintroduced an ERA ratification bill. The measure was previously championed by then-State legislator Sandra Day O’Connor. We're honored to have fighters like State Senator Steele in our corner!
“As far as we’re concerned, we have the 28th Amendment. Now all we need to do is get the archivist to be directed to put it into the Constitution, to be certified,” said Steele.
Check out the press coverage of the ratification bill.
And our youth are more engaged than ever - with Generation Ratify tying purple ribbons around trees in Arizona, including a QR code linking to more information on the Equal Rights Amendment.
