The 5th Annual Campus ERA Day will be held on April 19th, 2021 from 5:00-6:30 p.m. ET Campus ERA Day aims to raise awareness and educate students about the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) which upon ratification would guarantee equal rights for all citizens regardless of sex. It would provide the effective legal recourse necessary for women and girls to fight economic inequality, workplace discrimination, violence against women, and other forms of gender-based discrimination.
Last year, many campuses across the country joined us in our revitalized push to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment. Participants included Cornell University, Jackson State University, Howard University, Kennesaw State University, and Yale University. This year, the event will occur over Zoom and we’re hoping to include colleges from all 50 states.
Each participating campus will be announced and given the opportunity to engage in a live Q&A with an exciting panel of notable experts on the issue of gender equality. In the past, our program has had guest speakers such as actress and advocate Patricia Arquette, feminist Gloria Steinem, Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney, former Illinois House Representative Steve Andersson, and Nevada State Legislator Pat Spearman. This year’s event will be moderated by Carol Jenkins, the award-winning broadcaster and CEO of the ERA Coalition.
This year, we’re hoping for an even bigger Campus ERA Day and we’d love for you to contribute to the conversation we are going to have about the ERA. Please let us know if you are interested by filling out the attached Google Form. We hope to see you there!
